Short CV and research interests:

His current work at the institute focuses on the definition and execution of technology innovation and management strategies for emerging ITC companies that cater to the media and telecommunications industry verticals in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

Dr. Harold Paredes-Frigolett has over two decades of blended R&D, marketing, and technology and innovation management experience at technology centers and software companies that have been shaping the Internet since its inception in the early 1990s. His current research and consulting work focuses on general innovation and technology management in knowledge-intensive industries, particularly in the information technology, communications and media industries, on the definition and implementation of technology innovation strategies, and on the application of social media and new media applications for implementing the next-generation revenue models of the global telecommunications and media industries.

He has been a former research and industry associate in the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) at the University of Oxford in England and a former postdoctoral fellow in the Computer Science Department at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

He currently serves as an off-site associate in the Computational Learning Laboratory in the Center for the Study of Language and Information at Stanford University and at the Graduate Business School of Diego Portales University in Santiago de Chile.

Harold graduated magna cum laude from the Computer Science Department at the University of Essen, Germany, with a doctoral thesis nominated for the David Marr Memorial Prize by the American Cognitive Science Society in the U.S. in 1996. He also graduated from the School of Engineering at the Federico Santa Maria University of Technology in Valparaiso, Chile, with a BSc in Computing Engineering in 1986.
