Dr. Michael P. Schlaile

Biography: 

 

Michael Schlaile is an external postdoc / habilitation candidate at the University of Hohenheim. In 2008, he graduated from the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart with a German Diploma in Business Administration (Banking) after a three-year integrated degree program, which is accredited as B.A. (Hons.) from The Open University. Afterwards, he worked for one year as a foreign exchange dealer and consultant at the Kreissparkasse Waiblingen’s Department of Interest and Currency Management. In 2009, he decided to study International Business and Economics at the University of Hohenheim, where he graduated as M.Sc. in 2012. During his master studies, he spent an ERASMUS semester abroad at the Danish Aalborg University, where he took courses in Innovation, Knowledge and Entrepreneurial Dynamics. From 2012 to 2016, Michael was part of the scientific staff at the Chair of Catholic Theology and Business Ethics, where he worked for Prof. Dr. Michael Schramm as a research associate, teaching assistant, and doctoral student. In November 2016, Michael Schlaile joined the Chair of Innovation Economics, where he worked until January 2023. Since March 2018, he has also been a (voluntary) researcher and fellow at the Center for Applied Cultural Evolution in Eugene, OR. From April 2021 until June 2022, he coordinated a research project on new imaginative economies at Cusanus University as a (part-time) postdoc. Since mid-January 2023, he has been working at Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) in the working group “Co-Design of Change and Innovation”, where he studies sustainability-oriented transformation and innovation processes in the bioeconomy.
