Project description:

The automotive industry is approaching a period of transition. On the one hand, autonomous driving has the potential to fundamentally change the future mobility market. On the other hand, alternative powertrain technologies introduce widespread uncertainties on global powertrain markets. In this context, the breakthrough of autonomous driving might fundamentally influence today’s market mechanisms on vehicle and powertrain markets and result in new interrelationships that are mainly unknown today. It is the aim of this dissertation project to examine possible impacts of autonomous driving on the vehicle and powertrain market. In particular, the market of autonomous mobility services provided by Shared Autonomous Vehicles (SAV) will be analyzed by appropriate simulation techniques, in order to understand possible effects of autonomous driving on vehicle and powertrain markets.
